About Dalmatian Rescue of Illinois

Dalmatian Rescue of Illinois was active between 2001 and 2020.

Dalmatian Rescue of Illinois is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, incorporated in the State of Illinois and licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Dalmatian Rescue of Illinois is dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned Dalmatians in Illinois and the surrounding states. We take Dalmatians from, and place them in, the following states only: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin.

If you live in another state, please visit www.dalsavers.org to find a Dalmatian rescue organization near you.

All work is done by volunteers. No one in the organization receives a salary. All our dogs are fostered in private homes and appointments need to be made in order to meet them.

We take in purebred Dalmatians and Dalmatian mixes. Most of our Dalmatians come from shelters where they have run out of time. Some come from families who can no longer care for them. We take in dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors.

All dogs are spayed or neutered before placement. They receive complete veterinary care, including treatment for heartworm, consultation with veterinary specialists, and surgery, when needed. They are microchipped. Our goal is to send them to their new homes ready to enjoy life with their new family.

In their foster homes, dogs receive loving care, basic training, and experience with other dogs. We put in many, many hours with the dogs in our care and place them only in the best of homes.

We screen prospective adopters carefully, and do everything possible to match families with appropriate dogs. Our main goal is to make the dogs happy! We are here for them and we speak for them: we are their advocates. We essentially let them advise us on what sort of home they would like best to go to.

We listen.
