Giving Up Your Dalmatian

We are happy to speak with Dalmatian owners about the problems they are having with their Dals, in hopes of finding a way for owners to keep their Dalmatians in their homes.

Many behavior problems can be solved with the right techniques and a little patience. We can give you training tips, and help you find an experienced and accredited trainer in your area.

If you believe that you can no longer keep your Dalmatian, we will discuss with you the possibility of surrendering your Dalmatian to our organization.

The great majority of our Dalmatians come from shelters where they have run out of time. We take Dalmatians from individuals only as room allows. If you relinquish your Dalmatian to us, you will be asked to sign a release form giving us legal ownership of the dog. Suggested rehoming donation: $500.

Please note that we cannot

  • board Dalmatians while their owners are on vacation,
  • provide funds to pay veterinary bills that owners are unable to pay.

We are an independent organization, and have no affiliation with any other Dalmatian rescue organization or Dalmatian club. We are not sponsored by nor do we receive financial assistance from the State of Illinois.

We will do everything we can to help you. We are under no obligation, however, to take your Dalmatian into rescue.

In case of emergency, please do not call us. Contact your veterinarian, an emergency veterinary facility, or your local police department.

We can be reached between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at 815-758-3955.
